The majority of our grant-making is to groups, in particular small community and voluntary groups that are charitable in purpose and are working for the benefit of people in Kent and Medway.
Core support funding
Kent Community Foundation recognises that frontline organisations invest a great deal of resource into applying for funding, and sometimes find it challenging to secure funding for their core work and overheads. To acknowledge this, we have been supporting groups with unrestricted funding since 2018. This year, we awarded thirteen charitable organisations funding towards their core costs through our 20th Anniversary Fund - Core Support. The thirteen groups whose applications were successful each received £12,000 this year, which will be followed by a second grant of £9,600 in April 2022 and a third of £6,000 in April 2023, towards their core costs, including utilities, rent, and staffing costs.
MASSIVE 'thank you ' to everyone at Kent Community Foundation. Your funding support is HUGELY appreciated and has enabled us to get into the heart of local communities with REAL, affordable, healthy and tasty food that does so much more than feed people.Community chef Mike Spackman, Sheppey Matters
The funds that we received came at a very important transitional time for Nourish and we have been able to put our expansion plans in place with your help. This has meant that we have been able to increase our coverage and made sure that more people are not going hungry.Nourish Foodbank
Thank you so much for the opportunity to take a break in my caring role. It’s not been an easy time for me recently. Being a dual carer, me-time has been non-existent. This will be the first time that I will have been away on my own in the last 10 years. Thank you so much for your support.Ann-Marie
