Support for applicants

The majority of our grant-making is to groups, in particular small community and voluntary groups that are charitable in purpose and are working for the benefit of people in Kent and Medway.

Below and in the links to the right, you will find important information about our grant funding. You can also watch a series of videos about the grant application journey.

PLEASE NOTE: For the purposes of our grant making, Kent Community Foundation is unable to consider any applications from the following organisations:

- Organisations that are requesting support for activities taking place in the London boroughs of Bexley and Bromley, or any other areas not falling under the jurisdiction of Kent County Council or Medway Council.

- CICs or Companies Limited by guarantee that have one or more PSCs.

If your organisation currently has one or more PSC and you would like to remove them, you can find next steps and further information on the process here.*

*The PSC register can’t be left blank, so when the PSC is removed you must add a holding statement, as below:

The company knows or has reasonable cause to believe that there is no registrable person or no registrable relevant legal entity in relation to the company.

This confirms that there is no PSC.

Applications from schools

We welcome applications for school-based extra-curricular/enhancement activity. In order to meet our own charitable aims, we can only accept requests from associated groups such as a “friends of” or a PTFA, and not from schools direct.

Our Grants Team is run monthly advice sessions for applicants  where you can ask an experienced and friendly expert about anything related to applying to KCF for funding.

Sessions will be on the last Friday morning of every month from 10.00 to 12.00, with 30 minute slots available. To book please email kathryn@kentcf.org.uk or call 01303 765 360.

Funding Application Journey

We have created a series of three videos (Apply for Funding, Assessing you Application and Decision Time) to help you through the application process when you apply to Kent Community Foundation for funding for your charity, community group or project.  Watch the videos below or download the information here.

MASSIVE 'thank you ' to everyone at Kent Community Foundation. Your funding support is HUGELY appreciated and has enabled us to get into the heart of local communities with REAL, affordable, healthy and tasty food that does so much more than feed people.

The funds that we received came at a very important transitional time for Nourish and we have been able to put our expansion plans in place with your help. This has meant that we have been able to increase our coverage and made sure that more people are not going hungry.

Nourish Foodbank

Thank you so much for the opportunity to take a break in my caring role. It’s not been an easy time for me recently. Being a dual carer, me-time has been non-existent. This will be the first time that I will have been away on my own in the last 10 years. Thank you so much for your support.

KCF's enthusiasm for what we are doing and hoping to do, coupled with helpful advice, gave us the confidence to take this daunting step which has paid off.

Liz Turner, Octopus Foundation

It's great having a foundation that empowers organisations and charities in our community to make real positive differences and changes!
