Grants for Organisations

Kent Community Foundation awards grants to organisations in Kent and Medway, building strong and vibrant communities throughout the county. As a Community Foundation we match applications from the community to our donors’ interests.

The majority of our grant-making is to groups, in particular small community and voluntary groups that are charitable in purpose and are working for the benefit of people in Kent and Medway. You do not have to be a registered charity to apply for a grant; however the work you ask us to support must be legally charitable and your group must be constituted.

Grants for Individuals

We offer direct support to individuals and families in need but this is restricted to very specific situations.

Blended Loans/Grants

Our social lending programme, Kent Social Enterprise Loan Fund (KSELF) combines grants with loans to offer bespoke funding of between £10,000 and £100,000 to local charities and social enterprises, encouraging them to take a more enterprising approach to achieving positive change in our communities.

Originally established with funding from Kent County Council in 2012, the programme has recently been significantly boosted by The Growth Fund (collaboration between Access, Big Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Capital) which enables us to offer a higher level of grant.

The funds that we received came at a very important transitional time for Nourish and we have been able to put our expansion plans in place with your help. This has meant that we have been able to increase our coverage and made sure that more people are not going hungry.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to take a break in my caring role. It’s not been an easy time for me recently. Being a dual carer, me-time has been non-existent. This will be the first time that I will have been away on my own in the last 10 years. Thank you so much for your support.

It's great having a foundation that empowers organisations and charities in our community to make real positive differences and changes!
