High Sheriff hosts thank you to Kent charities
Over 70 charities from across Kent attended a special party at the St Clere Estate in Sevenoaks on Monday 24 September 2018.
Working with Kent Community Foundation (KCF), The High Sheriff of Kent, Jane Ashton, hosted the event as a celebration of all the brilliant and often unseen work carried out by small grassroots charities and community groups across Kent and Medway.
The event provided the ideal opportunity to bring together and say thank you to all those making a huge difference in our county. Guests enjoyed tea, coffee and cake followed by inspiring speeches from Refocus Project and Waterside Parents’ Centre, a representation of just some of the charities who have received funding through Kent Community Foundation’s core support pilot.
Chief Executive Josephine McCartney encouraged those seeking funding to apply to KCF, who last year funded over 560 projects with £2.25 million of grants, commenting: “This event is an opportunity for us to thank you all for the work you do, working with a range of different people and to recognise the important role you fulfil. There are a number of funds which we manage and which are seeking projects to fund, so I would urge all small grassroots charities and community groups in Kent and Medway to come and talk to us and to see what financial support we can give to them.”
