On 25 September Kent Community Foundation invited charities to a special event at Chatham Dockyard.

On the 25 September, The Commissioner’s House, Chatham Dockyard, was the venue for an event for seventy charities hosted by Paul Barrett MBE, High Sheriff of Kent and Josephine McCartney, Chief Executive, Kent Community Foundation to celebrate their important roles within Kent and Medway.

After guests had enjoyed time to network and catch up with members of the Kent Community Foundation team over tea and mini cakes, Paul Barrett, MBE, High Sherriff of Kent, spoke about how in his role as High Sherriff he had the pleasure of visiting many simply inspiring charities and had realised that the county could not function without the organisations present at the event.

Guests also heard from Kim Salisbury, Maidstone Mediation, Irene Jeffrey, Crossroads Care Kent and Denise Ross, Slide Away, who thanked Kent Community Foundation for their support and explained the huge difference grants had made to their work within the community.
