Announcement regarding Simon Maclachlan, Kent Community Foundation's first Chair of Trustees and Vice President.

We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Simon MacLachlan MBE DL, Kent Community Foundation’s first Chair of Trustees and an instrumental figure in our organisation’s creation and growth.

Simon’s vision and passion shaped the very fabric of Kent Community Foundation and he remained a dedicated friend of the Foundation.

Speaking in 2021 during Kent Community Foundation's 20th anniversary celebrations, Simon commented "Little did I expect back in 2001 that the Foundation would, over 20 years, distribute £45million to good causes in Kent and Medway. Many congratulations are due to my successors as Chair of the Trustees and their trustee colleagues, to our Chief Executives and all members of staff, as well as the loyal fund-holders and donors without whose generosity non of these achievements would have been possible."

We would like to express our deepest gratitude for his years of service and support. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

MASSIVE 'thank you ' to everyone at Kent Community Foundation. Your funding support is HUGELY appreciated and has enabled us to get into the heart of local communities with REAL, affordable, healthy and tasty food that does so much more than feed people.

Community chef Mike Spackman, Sheppey Matters

KCF's enthusiasm for what we are doing and hoping to do, coupled with helpful advice, gave us the confidence to take this daunting step which has paid off.

Liz Turner, Octopus Foundation

It's great having a foundation that empowers organisations and charities in our community to make real positive differences and changes!
